Sport is flourishing at St Andrews. We have one of the highest participation rates of any university in Scotland and our students perform regularly at national and international level. The University also plays a keen and active role within the local community by providing a wide ranging programme of sporting activities for local schools and clubs. We seek to ensure sport is central to the student experience and to provide opportunities for all, as well as for those who seek to excel.
This vision of sport across the three pillars of excellence, experience and engagement has been seriously hampered by our limited and outdated facilities. The University has recognised this need to invest in sport by undertaking a £14 million project of refurbishment and extension of our Sports Centre.
This exciting development has so far seen the completion of various high-quality, state-of-the-art sports facilities including a new eight-court Sports Arena, an enhanced gym, strength and conditioning suite and dance studios. The next build phase will see the construction of a four-court indoor Tennis Centre, providing the only facility of this sort in the region.
We are delighted to offer naming rights for a variety of spaces in the redeveloped Sports Centre, including both the refurbished facilities and the new build. These range from naming a grass football pitch for £40,000, the 3G pitch for £50,000, naming a Tennis Court within the new Tennis Centre for £300,000, to £7m to secure the right to name the whole development.
